Gifts Ignited Area Helps Retailers Rise Above Mediocracy
Retail is not dead, mediocre retail is dead. That’s why UNITE 2018 offers a special visual merchandising program to help create destination stores that emotionally connect with people. The Gifts Ignited area offers not only examples and demonstrations of visual merchandising, but also will give away displays and free product to retailers in a free drawing at the end of convention.
Stop by the area to pick up drawing tickets from exhibitors or tear out the ticket in the UNITE 2018 coupon booklet in your buyer bag to enter the drawing. Pick up extra tickets at exhibitors listed below that have donated product for the displays and giveaways.
The demonstration displays are created by Sherry Morris of Carpentree and Michelle Amster of Integra Interactive. Also participating in workshop instruction and demonstrations is Donna McCollough, owner of Dove Christian Supply (Dothan, Alabama), who won the spring CBA merchandising contest.
The displays also will be the focus of a free Retail Academy workshop, “Ignite Your Gift Sales: Compelling Merchandising that Drives Traffic and Sales” 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, in the Church Bookstore Connection Center on the exhibit floor. Students will meet in the center first then move to the Gifts Ignited area for hands-on demonstrations.
Creating new destination retail stores is part of new programs launching at UNITE 2018, including new product and financing programs from platinum sponsor, Inventory Solutions, which will bring new advantages for retailers to handle gift and specialty product with effective financing.
